Dependents
If you need to add or remove an F-2 or J-2 dependent, see the Dependents page for more information. If you need to edit your dependents information on the I-20 or DS-2019, email isss@tamu.edu.
Lost or Damaged I-20/DS-2019
If you need a replacement for any of your I-20s or DS-2019s, submit one of the following requests to ISSS:
- F-1 I-20 Document Replacement Due to Loss or Damage
- J-1 DS-2019 Document Replacement Due to Loss or Damage
Change from F-1/J-1 Status to Another Status
If you’ve become a Lawful Permanent Resident, submit a copy of your green card or immigrant visa through the Lawful Permanent Resident Update request.
If you’ve been approved for another status (not permanent resident), you can inform ISSS by emailing a copy of the approval notice to isss@tamu.edu.
If you are interested in changing to F-2 or J-2 status and your spouse is an F-1 or J-1 with TAMU, your spouse needs to submit an Invite Dependent request to ISSS. See F-2 and J-2 Dependents page for more information.
Status Violations
If you believe you’ve violated your F-1 or J-1 status somehow, contact ISSS as soon as possible. The sooner you contact ISSS, the more options you may have to resolve the issue.
Some common status violations are:
- Working without authorization (this includes doing internships and co-ops)
- Not enrolling full-time without authorization
- Not enrolling in enough in-person courses
- Doing a leave of absence without telling ISSS
